Remember the Lucky Clover Jar we started…
Ever since we started our four-leaf-clover jar
We find at least one new clover a day it seems
Still making me begin to wonder
If we need that jar to see some dreams.
Each day it seems one of us will find at least one
My sister though often finds two, even more
As with all this rain we’ve had lately
Many more have grown for sure.
The problem though is with our clover jar
It stands six inches tall or so
It’s about as big around as a frozen OJ can
So filling it up I feel will go slow.
As the size of the jar’s not our only problem
For as we keep putting the clovers in
Within just a day they shrivel then dry up
Therefore seemingly each day we must begin again.
So maybe this idea wasn’t the best one to have
For if our dreams don’t happen, before the jar is filled up to the top
I’m pretty sure they’ll never come true
So maybe the filling of the jar should stop.
As I am sure that we’ll find many more clovers
Before their season is through
But if we have to fill the jar first
There’s a pretty good chance that’s something we can’t do.
So although we’ll keep the jar for awhile
Adding new four-leaf-clovers every day
We’ve decided to do it, just for fun
And not use it as guidance along our way.
So I guess that means the chance for dreams come true
Will happen no matter how many clovers we may find
For the search for clovers will end pretty soon
But our hopes and our dreams we’ll never leave behind.
