People are supposed to pass through certain stages of development. Sometimes I wonder…

We are supposed to out grow these ways
By the time that we are two;
But indications are these days,
That isn’t really true.

Children believe when they aren’t there
Parents wait with nothing to do
Till childish presence once again
Gives to them a clue

As to how to fill life and time
With purpose, scansion and rhyme.

    You are so right. I think most children and even some husbands are like that.

    I think Christine is right! Temper tantrums: Not just for two year olds anymore! And personal responsibilites, accepting blame, and a healthy work ethic? My 15 year old is job hunting, but she assumes she will be able to find one where she will be generously paid for doing very little.

    Christine is right. My husband is often right there with my son. :)

    Daisy, You are right about children thinking parents exist only for them.

    I like your point of view.
