A call to share the sorrow of a grieving friend.

Image via Wikipedia

Come weep with me on this dark night.
The one I love has left my sight.
As pain from loss does bring me low,
And tears of grief begin to flow,
In arms of comfort hold me tight.

I’ve bid goodbye through sacred rite
And sorrows peak has reached its height.
My heart’s been dealt its greatest blow.
Come weep with me.

Come my friends my strength is slight.
Your hearts of love will be my light.
Fresh life will then begin to grow
And ice of death will melt like snow.
You will again my hope ignite.
Come weep with me.

Great write. When my best friend died it caused me to move back to my boyhood home.

It brings tears to my eyes – especially the line “Come weep with me..” It is a blessing when we have someone to weep with.
    Thanks, it’s beautiful.

How beautiful, Katie Marie, in a wistful way. This poem brought tears to my eyes. You captured so well the feelings we go thru when we lose a loved one, and need the strength of our loved ones who remain.

There are two things in life that above all else strengthen our spirits and friendships alike: shared tears, and shared laughter.

I should also say that I just love your title on this piece as well.

Mmm, beauty from pain. You’ve formed this so that it is an effortless read, bringing the pain and love and beauty to the fore. It is difficult to craft a form that is so perfect to the subject matter as to disappear.

A passionate poetry to ride out the sorrow to the hope of a brighter day. Well done.
