A poem I wrote while having a sort of drugless high. If you have ever been really tired or have played video games for hours, it is the feeling of not wanting to think about anything.
Every day we work and suffer,
Just to earn a small pay.
Then we come home just to find,
We’re still trapped in the uneventful day.
We realize that there is more to life,
Than working to feed ourselves.
There is freedom to do whatever we please
But instead we end up stocking shelves.
Work should be somewhat fun,
You should have a passion,
Yet most of us spend countless days,
Working to afford our ration.
It’s safe to say that I enjoy,
Most of the work I do,
Yet there are others who don’t realize,
That there is always time to renew.
They think that they are stuck for life,
With their dissatisfaction,
Thinking that they work every day,
For one small, measly transaction.
I’m not saying you should quit your job,
But there is a dream job you are deserving of.
Get out there, and find your passion,
Find and do something that you love.
