This competition for you will be the death of me.
To have a hope at your attention
I must engage in this infernal competition,
For if you are as amazing to my eyes,
Others could not just sit by.
And they’ll shower you with gifts and praise,
To make themselves, in your eyes raise.
They’ll sing you songs, they’ll write you ballads,
To make them and you feel oh so valid.
And if I speak up, they’ll slander me,
And make you think I shouldn’t be.
What can I offer, to win your affection?
Because one like me can’t compete for perfection.
