Could we get along without our computer if we had to? Would we really want to get along without it?
Computer, I don’t really need you,
I just don’t care if you’re there.
So why, when the screen can’t connect,
Do I find myself pulling my hair?
Before I had a computer
I got along just fine,
So why is it so crucial each day
That I spend all of this time?
I can’t go without checking email,
What if I got a letter?
Then I must write my replies,
From here it only gets better…
Computer, I don’t really need you,
I know that it seems like I do,
But you got the wrong impression,
Sometimes that’s easy to do.
I realize the first thing I do
When I get out of my bed,
Is start you but just remember,
It’s like I already said—-
I got along just fine without you,
If you “can’t connect” that’s okay,
After all, you aren’t my life,
I have a very full day.
Oh, computer—forget that!
Come on! I’m down on my knees!
What do you want? A new screensaver?
It’s yours! Now connect! PLEASE!!
