You couldn’t see the mask the lady wore…

you couldn’t see the mask the lady wore

ate your heart out believing someday she’d be yours

barely noticed that girl with piercing dark eyes

that never for a moment left your side

sacrificed every principle she had because she fell for you

she didn’t know that you’d fall, too…

charged with treason for something that you didn’t do

didn’t know what you were getting yourself into

trembling in a line with arms bound behind your back

you pleaded for her help and she laughed
