Poem.
Rings on fingers cast aside,
Confetti in the breeze,
Promises just fade and die
While lawyers count their fees.
Changing partners, changing dreams,
Building walls between us,
Looking forward to the past,
Like some head of Janus.
Cheating lips and lying eyes,
Fidelity’s passé,
Grab it while the going’s good,
Before youth slips away.
Too easily vows broken,
Now lovers hop like fleas,
Rings on fingers cast aside,
Confetti in the breeze.
