Restless and confused

I think about you

you are in my thoughts

as I attempt to drift into sleep

I can not sleep

I am very tired but as I shut my eyes

I dream about us together

my mind is elated and tormented

I can not shut you out

I find myself asking, if I really want to shut you out

I remember some minor encounters that appeared to have touched me deeply

you appear to care not

my thoughts are a jumbled mess

part of me wishes you were as in my dreams

part of me wishes you would go away

leave me alone

I am confused

I need rest

I need sleep

you are near though you are far away

I love you

and so away you must go

Well, now. The operative line in your poem is “I love you.” I think you must work from that point of view not “you must go.” Stop dreaming and go to work.

    It’s okay Ken.
