An undeniable child’s love for their mother that last for eternity.
As I gaze into your tender eyes,
I see a familiar face.
Staring as if to analyze,
I feel I know that place.
The past in a flash goes by,
Is it the reflections of me?
I see your tears as you cry.
Now I know who I see.
Tears of fear and tears of joy,
Tells me what you are feeling.
Beyond the point to destroy,
Emotions so revealing.
You gave me life one early morning,
And always there when needed.
Hugs and kisses without a warning,
Your love by far, exceeded.
A life cannot be compared,
To anything on this earth,
Nor change what we have shared,
Through you, I see my worth.
Forever in my heart is where you are
Warm memories safe from harm,
Your glowing life as bright as a star.
Your face, your smile, full of charm.
Now, I truly understand,
Why you love me so,
Oh yes, I was in your plan,
With no intent to let go.
Respect I gladly give thee,
You taught me what can be.
Reflections of me is who I see.
Thank you, Mom, for loving me.
I dedicate this poem “Connections” to my mother, Dorothy Louise and all mothers.
