A poem about loneliness.
It’s another night,
And I’m alone again,
Sitting here in front of this screen,
Glancing down at my silent phone,
Where have I gone wrong?
I watch the clock,
Hoping to pass enough time,
For my aching heart to still,
For the time when,
I get to sleep,
The only place this pain,
Can’t seem to find me.
But it’s too early now for that,
And so I click away,
Each new site offering endless “connections”,
But for every new one,
The same disappointment,
And for each new “connection”,
All end up the same.
Seems that we all are looking,
For that simple moment,
Where we connect with someone,
To make us feel alive,
Not hollowed out inside,
And so the night continues,
One click at a time,
Maybe my moment,
Will come real soon.
