The speaker comes face to face with God in acknowledging Him. In humble reverence, the speaker asks his God to consider his being, his forethought, his heart, and his works that he might become worthy of his God’s attention. Essentially, he proclaims to God, “See if there be any wicked way in me (and if there be, correct me and), lead me in the “Way” (that is) everlasting”.

I too feel to lie my head upon Your breast, wanting you without end…
As Simon, in my zeal, I say, “I will lay down my sin for You,”
I too say, “I will never be offended because of Thee,”
And yet, I am indeed, gladly and daily offended because of You,
Notwithstanding, I know, in truth that, You are incapable of offending;

I too know the sinner way…, yet consider me, as Simon Bar-jona,
I know, You, in truth, know that I, though stern, am in love with Thee,
Rebuke evil in me, as I am zealously too bold in my wont of you…
Let me not fall, and I will fish for You generations of saintly men,
And would I bind the contrary and loose good and my key justly judge.

And, for this consideration, I will ever be, “In Your Face:”
Consider Me also, as You did a Mary…, “Forgiven, for sorrow,  freed,”
A sinner in deed…, more so, however, a contrite lover in heart,
You, by her, given a memorial… Behold! She, by You, memorialized,
Her good works, by You alone were made much of…, consider my heart’s…
Being also forgiven little by earth, as she…, let me yet love much;

 For money’s love, Iscariot railed, they were indignant, not seeing,
The thief, fed up by the “waste” did say, “Give me it…, I deliver Him,”
Three hundred for the sacred body’s sleep, anointed by a sorrowful sinner…
Howbeit, how much more, thirty pieces brings about the ritual’s purpose…
Also let the fill of these cups pass from me…, nevertheless, Your will be.

And, for this consideration, I will ever be, “In Your Face:”

Consider me even, as You considered Saul…, “Your Chosen Vessel,”
Recycle me, send for me, as You did Paul, in that, Your ironic way…
While in a house trembling, on Straight St., as he prayed for fear,
Your choosing him was obvious…, to stop his beat…, join him,
For the hardened heart of Saul, waxed, could not feel Your pricks;

I would to be deaf as well as blind, if then I hear and behold You,
Blind me that I might forget my way, as did Paul as his Saul,
As I, blind mine just accusers to my forsaken way to seeing as I now,
In blinding me, bind me to a set course that leads not beyond You,
Blindness being my seal of Your Touch, Your Work, Your Hand…
In these sweet gifts, I forsake all but love, to better be as You;

I do not wish to forget though that which is behind me forsaken,
Only in sacred blindness, I press forward in my mission to join to You…
My prior purpose and name let me have no desire for, hereinafter,
Only that You consider me as You did Saul… recyclable, and…
My thorn, my token of Your ownership, I shall boastfully wear.

Graft me into Your Body, and I will be fruitful to multiply and pridefully defend You.

And, for this consideration, I will ever be, “In Your Face:”
Come to me in sleep as to Jacob.., “A Prince, having power to prevail,”
Come, and introduce me to You, God of Abraham and Isaac as well.
Yet blessing without entreat, bless me, keep me as he, and as he,
I vow, a tenth more I shall surely return unto Thee, God of the Three,
Contend with me as with Jacob, wanting to be my God, and Israel shall prevail.

And, for this consideration, I will ever be… “In Your Face…”
Consider me, if You will, as Your Emmanuel… “One With Thee,”
Let he that seeth me, see the You in me…, that We be one,
Call me beloved, in so much as what Your mouth wills, I do,
As You are hated, for the same cause, let me be hated more so,
Let me count my faith tried, joy and daily die as I follow Your lead.

And, for this consideration, I will ever be, “In Your Face:”
Consider me, as You consider all of Yours chosen in their time,
Do also me, and acknowledge me in a capacity, as Your own,
I come before You in acknowledgement of You as my chosen God,
That You consider me in You, Lord, I seek Your face, in this time, my time…
Give to me my name, by which I shall be known, henceforth and forever more.
