We possess a document, written for the freedoms which are inherent. We must share this with everyone, including ourselves!

CONSTITUTION

There is a parchment of olden times,

Written by hand in indelible lines,

Not the ink which shall fade,

But the concept that they laid,

For us and for People everywhere,

To us but for us to share,

A truth, a given, written down,

Freedom is ours – we are not bound,

This scrip, this scroll proclaims liberty,

Our right and glory to all be free!

    Here Here,

You read my mind again with this poem. I was just thinking about the Preamble which reads…….”to ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, and promote the general welfare of blessings and liberties for all”. The document doesn’t carry “weight” (if it ever did) like it supposed to and because “we the people” seem so helpless to fight for it, we sit apathetically by and let the wheels of giants continue to grind us to powder. Excellent poem as all of yours are.
