This was a prompt for a picture of a swing.
I just gave it a story and added something personal to it.
They pull at these chains again,
knowing I could fall,
but I know I can walk away,
they can’t take it all.
I sit on this swing,
lost in my mind,
I fight to heal this broken wing,
so I may break my bind.
Though they could kill me inside,
I won’t let them win,
because I would never hide,
from their painful sins.
So when they taunt me,
I pay no attention,
because I will end life happy,
and reign my life again.
