A poet’s frightening encounter with Pearson’s r!

Statistical, logistical
Mathmatical confustical…
No wonder ancient folk
Considered numbers magical.

My head has turned
Upside down and inside out
Knowledge drains
Like water from a spout

Give me infinitives
Or even yet a partical
With adjective and adverbs
I can wax intensely smartical

But median, mean and mode
Cause me to dream of yesteryear
Of runic rhymes and druid…
No, wait! They had numerical lore

No doubt their genius
Seasonal math did explore…
I fear though I find words yummy,
I remain forever a mathematical dummy!

Math was never my favorite either. Now for the word conundrum, it is one of my favorite words.
