Carnal desires seeking spiritual forgiveness.
Crawling Off The Altar
The calling of my body, told me this would feel good
Walking toward that longing, like I knew I would
With the promise to never waiver and not to falter
Betraying body had me crawling off the altar
Slow hands caressing emotions deep within
Lips whispering words that I needed to hear
Kisses igniting feelings into a roaring flame
While passion and desire was calling out my name
This spirit is under construction, proceed with caution
But my betraying body, got me crawling off the altar
It’s been a long time, since I’ve felt this way
Voices in my head telling me to leave, to stay
Falling N 2 Deep, head barely above water
Lord, my betraying body, has me crawling off the altar
I let him enter into the holiest of holy
Breaking a covenant I made to You only
Gave away what wasn’t mine to offer
A betraying body kept me crawling off the altar.
