About a mom thinking ahead, and how the kid sees it.

Well its another day,
And momma is feeling o.k.
Momma is trying to write something
on the computer today.
Grandma is in the other room,
Just snoring away.
Baby a playing,
At her feet, just quite in away.
Momma is thinking of what to fix,
Eggs, eggs, eggs their good to fix.
Eggs, eggs, eggs they are
yummy, yummy, in your tum, tum tummy.
So she jumps off the computer,
And walks into another room.
Baby following on her heals.
Looking like what you doing mom.
Baby has learned over time,
When momma jumps up,
Momma is up to something.
Momma is reaching in the frig, and getting out eggs.
Baby got her mind a thinking.
Momma what you doing?
I’m getting out eggs.
Why, what you going to do with eggs.
There is a storm coming baby,
and they say we might lose power.
Baby trying to think what a storm has to do with eggs.
So baby says, what you doing with eggs momma.
Momma just smiles and says you will see sweet pea.
Momma runs a big pot of water,
And puts it on the stove.
Then she puts all the eggs in it.
Then walks away to do something else.
Baby follows, and is saying.
Momma why did you put them eggs in water
and sit in the pan.
Momma looks at her and says.
I put there for the water to get hot and boil.
There they will stay then for 15 mins.
Baby says why 15 mins mom.
Her not knowing what 15 mins is.
Mom walks over to the big grandfather clock,
and shows her where the hands will be when they are done.
This is good because baby now feels,
she is important to what momma is doing.
She will tell her when the clock hands,
are where they are so post to be.
Not long baby walks up to momma,
and pulls on her shirt.
Momma I forgot where the hands are so post to be.
Can you show me again.
Momma walks over and points again,
And they sit there tighter until then.
Baby yells its time, their done.
Momma tells her she is so proud she helped her with that.
That was a important part of cooking the eggs.
Baby is just glowing with pride.
Momma goes and gets the pot.
Momma says stand back baby,
This is very hot and will burn you bad,
And it would make you cry,
and have to see the doctor,
and they would give you a shot.
That is a scary thing,
so baby backs away,
all the way to the table.
Momma I’m o.k. way over here,
you can do it now.
Momma drains the hot water,
Then runs in cold water over the eggs.
Then momma starts picking up the eggs,
And pealing off the shells.
Then she puts them in a bowl.
Momma are they o.k. to touch now.
For mommas they are.
When I find one that a baby can peal I will let you help.
But right now you can hold the bowl for the shells.
That would be a major help.
Momma only has two hands.
Two more would even be better.
Baby swells with pride once again holding the bowl.
Momma does them one by one, until there is one left.
Baby says momma that one is for me to do.
I can do it, you will see.
Yes baby that one is for you to do.
But your shells on the counter.
Momma got down a magic bullet blender.
Baby said what you doing momma.
Well baby, Brother has a tooth acke,
Grandma has no teeth,
You like it creamy, and I like it cold.
Storm moving it, and power might go out.
Just sounds like how we should make it is all.
Baby nodding her head. Yep. Momma your right.
Momma always right.
Momma how do you know everything.
Momma just smiles,
and says my momma taught me just right.
Then momma puts all the eggs in a blender,
and three large table spoons of miracle whip,
and 2 table spoons of sweet relish,
and dash of salt and pepper.
Momma how do you know what a table spoon is.
Easy little spoons are tea spoons like the size of you.
Big spoons are like a grown up.
Momma what about the spoons you use in your pots.
Baby them are like grandparent spoons.
They sleep until the last min you eat.
Other wards we don’t need them when measuring,
Baby smiles really big, and says sometimes,
Grandma makes some of the best cookies.
Grandma don’t measure though,
She just dumps it.
They both laugh as momma blends it and puts it in the frig.
Momma we for got mine.
That’s o.k. baby you eat it.
Let me cut it up for you first,
so you don’t get to big of a piece,
stuck in there, and choke.
Momma I rember once I choke,
And you grabbed me and turned me up side down,
Until it came out.
You know everything mommy.
When baby finished her eggs,
and eggs shells was in the trash can.
Momma went back to the computer,
And started typing more.
You working on your story mommy.
Yes, baby, because some day,
You might think momma,
Isn’t the best momma,
And you might need reminded,
Of our time tighter.
No momma, I will always think you’re a good momma.
When you get to be a teen and want to date,
And I say no. You will go off stomping, saying I am a bad parent.
No I wont momma. I promise.
Well time passed and a bad storm blew in that night.
Power was out.
Momma turned on all the solar lights, so they could see.
Daddy didn’t like momma buying them until to night.
Tonight he knows she was smart.
Then daddy said I’m hungry.
Baby says momma made us food.
Its in the ice box.
Momma went and fix cold egg sandwiches for everyone and ice tea.
I went to bed, and then later on I head a noise.
Momma was on the computer typing again.
Then I heard her say done.
Wow the power is back on.
Momma what did you write about.
Just a story about me and you and our family baby.
Can you read it to me, and tuck me into bed.
Yes said momma.
That she did, because even in her story she knew I would ask.
Momma is so smart. Now go to sleep baby, and rember that when you’re a teen.
Good night.
