Imagine a crime story being told within the confines of a limerick….
Crime Limerick
They found the body in bed
It was very obviously dead
With blood on the floor
And guts by the door
It was also missing its head
It must have been there a while
As checking the telephones dial
There were messages few
And one was a clue
In a particularly murderous style
In a very sinister voice
The victim was given a choice
To hand the thing back
Or suffer attack
They be round soon in a Rolls Royce
So the murderer must have been there
As the evidence was very clear
On the drive by the drain
A big oily stain
From a vehicle in need of repair
And the culprit must have a key
As it was plain to see
The door wasn’t forced
But unlocked of course
An easy form of entry
Then upon leaving the scene
It wasn’t very clean
With footsteps of blood
Mixed in with mud
Probably size sixteen
A couple of days had gone
And the police had cottoned on
It was big boots Bob
Of the Rolls Royce mob
They’d suspected him all along
