A lesson of life.

Crossroad

Image via Wikipedia

They came dancing out of shadows,

Hoping to become wise,

Waiting for a holy man

Or an omen in disguise.

They gathered in a circle,

Each one with a confession,

Believing they could bring about

The truth of life’s real lesson.

Standing at a crossroad,

For their sins they dug deep holes,

But they did not know they stood

Where Sisyphus rocks rolled.

Just as dusk settled into night,

They knelt to wish upon a star,

But the healing did not happen,

They had pushed themselves too far.

So they decided to go back

To their martyr and the war,

They gave up on being blessed,

It was too late to ignore.

The crossroad they abandoned

Was everything they had feared,

After they left this place,

God appeared.

This is absolutely wonderfully composed. I like the flow, the intermingling of your well chosen words and the title is GREAT too. There are great messages in this too which make it SUPER, my friend!
