The crucification of our Lord and Savior.
Luke 23:33 When they came to the place called the Skull, ther they crucified him, along with the criminals-one on his right, the other on the left.
In the flesh He saw everything that He had created.
Knowing that soon
He will be humiliated.
He will be charged with blasphemy,
But it was the Pharisees and the Sadducees
That made him guilty.
From the start this crime was absurd.
Yet when he was beaten,
He never said a word.
When Pilate had him flogged
He was being persuaded
By a large and rowdy crowd.
His innocence couldn’t be justified.
And The Lamb of God
Would be crucified!
It was true what the Prophets had said,
The Messiah’s blood
Man will come to shed!
And some of them had even spoken,
Not one of his bones
Will ever be broken.
He only came to do the will of his Father,
But his death
Was disturbing to his mother.
And to everyone that followed,
Watching him die
Was very hard to swallow.
Even though his body was covered in black and blues,
In his eyes, he still said,
I will never leave you, nor will I forsake you.
He became so weak
And couldn’t even stand
On his own two feet.
Abused and with so much energy lost
He couldn’t even carry
His own heavy cross.
And when he said he was thirsty
It had to have been
An emergency.
To see the tears coming from his eyes,
It was inevitable,
Christ was dying.
There was nothing anyone could have done
For the one who was called
The only begotten Son.
And when he said it is finish,
Christ died
Without a spot or blemish.
He was our Lord and Savior
He was God,
And his life was over.
And just before he died
To his Father
He cried,
And said, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”
But his Father knew
This is what his Son had to go thru.
In three days he would arise again.
His resurrection
Was about to begin.
In John 19:30 when he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finish” with that he bowed his head down and gave up the ghost.
