I often ask myself why?
Why the cruelty?

Of Germany
That masterminded
And took the lives
Of 6-million Jews
During the holocaust?

How could someone be
Like Saddam Hussein
Of Iraq
That used poisonous gas
On the Kurds
Killing thousands

How could someone be
A serial killer like
Jack the Ripper
That murdered
Innocent victims for years
In the neighborhoods
Of London?

How could terrorists
Walk into mosques
In Afghanistan
Blowing themselves up
Killing hundreds
Believing that they would reap
Heavenly rewards?

Aren’t these actions madness
and extreme wickedness?

A display of power
And warped personalities
But why?

From the beginning
Of time
Such insanity
Has been going on

Over centuries
Of our civilization
Cruelty was found
In all races
Religions and creeds

Would the souls
Of these perpetrators
Ever find rest?
Would they face eternal damnation?
