An inspirational piece for men in the first crusade.
Followers, followers, intrepid all
Cast ye down thy empty coffers
Take up arms and heed the call
for thy quarrels and thy poverty have little left to offer
Thy kingship grand shall lead the host
and as men united confront our foes
the sovereign will and brazen might our mighty forces boast
Shall send them death in mighty, raging throes
So,
Lace thy boots and draw thine blade
Raise thy fist and serve Him devoutly
To war ye march, to glory and to good
and of thy death, ye needn’t be afraid
for men-at-arms so righteous and blessed
Thine afterlife’s reward shall be the blissful best
Now,
take up thy joyful arms and follow me
all ye loyal to thy grandest of lords
march on to reclamation, march on to thy great victory
and ye shall liberate the holy land by force of godly swords!
