Why is there not more discourse and outrage at the things done? Why are the vast majority silent?

CRY IN THE SILENCE
Oh, the deafening silence!
A scourge of the man of good,
What should be heard ’round the world,
The screams of condemnation could;
Oh, the void of discussion!
Lamented all the while,
Discourse needed and wanted,
Instead — silence and bile;
Oh, ‘twould seem a lack!
The spine has simply bent,
We’ve given up our voices,
And to our enemies lent;
Oh, the quiet scream!
A hope to see outrage,
There is a yearning, but darkly,
That our great voice is sage;
Oh, the silence is booming!
Quiet ’twill break and fall,
Voices of contempt will start flowing,
Ending the silent gall!
