The clear waters reflect the river bed

and a clean body would most certainly reflect one’s soul in all its glory

    Very vivid. Nice, kabs.

  • lillyrose on Oct 24, 2009

Well that was short and very, very sweet! must be why I stay dirty, so no one can see my soul! x

How wonderful. I am happy to have found someone else publishing haiku! I enjoyed your poem immensely.

Im not trying to be clean here. I work as a warehouse cleaner and get myself dirty everyday on the job. But coming home I get the break to be a writer so I try to come up with clean ideas as possible. Like seeing your dentures soaked in the glass when the vessel is clean. Thanks for all the comments, haiku is the answer to publication block (with triond) I realize.

    excellent

    best regards

  • rizzei on Oct 24, 2009

yeah..! i wanna try that someday..haha. was that 10 12 7 syllables? anyway, lovely haiku deep blue..love it^__^

  • xoxo on Oct 24, 2009

    Oh, good work, kabayan :)

  • deep blue on Oct 24, 2009

Rizz, that’s 22 words only including one separated by apostrophe. Well you know I have another article which had been frozen inside Triond’s freezer since last night and I’m wondering when it would be published. Haiku is both a relief from embarrassment and writer’s discomfort. You know it’s worst than motion sickness.

    A great one to share…

  • Brenda Nelson on Oct 24, 2009

I think what Rizzeis comment is that Haikus normally follow a pattern of 5 syllabls in the first line, 7 in the next, and 5 in the last.
I liked it anyhow. short and sweet, like lily said.

  • Pinaki Ghosh on Oct 24, 2009

Nice haiku. I have a picture with the same name in picable.

  • deep blue on Oct 24, 2009

Thanks Brenda. I’m really new at haiku. I’m reminded whenever Japanese people bow their heads and say “haik”. I will study the art and come up with serious ones according to pattern next time.

  • diamondpoet on Oct 24, 2009

    Very nice and well expressed!

  • Guy Hogan on Oct 24, 2009

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. The form of the haiku is classical. It is truly an art form. It is my favorite genre of poetry.

  • Tanya Wallace on Oct 24, 2009

This is the first haiku I have seen from you Will and as with all of your work I loved it, it was beautiful. I liked the comparison made,so very true my friend!
All the best on your writing

  • CHAN LEE PENG on Oct 24, 2009

Should be “haiku” not “hailu” and sorry for a typing error.

  • LoveDoctor on Oct 25, 2009

    very nice.

well said. I wasn\’t so sure if the pattern is right. Seems like there are more words than I usually read but I like it.

  • Faith Hodge on Oct 25, 2009
