A poem relating to how people fall in love alone… and its sad.
If you have ever fallen prey
To cupids careless arrow
You know such love can only bring
Not happiness, but Sorrow
I was hit fast, I dove in deep
In what I couldn’t fathom
Unknowingly free-falling through
A deep uncharted chasm
My heart was filled with burning flames
And drowned in deep emotion
I dwelled upon him everyday
With biblical devotion
My heart beguiled by lustrous charm
Fell in the deep unknown
Only to find a empty base
And I, there all alone
Foolish was I, for late I learned
My love was unrequited
For unto someone else I found
His heart he had committed
The fire that burned intensely simmered
To a vacant glow
So not a single way out
Could it’s feeble lighting show
If you have ever fallen prey
To cupids wistful arrow
A fellow victim will attest
To joy after the sorrow
For thus began my forced attempt
To mend the broken heart
so that someday when time is right
True love will it impart
So if you’re ever targeted
To cupids clumsy arrow
Be keen to dart or stoop and thus
You’ll spare yourself the sorrow
