Cynical Romance

Shall we begin with what is wrong with you
Or shall you revert the dilemma back this way
Let us take the easy way out and walk away now

The outdated concept of love in this story begins as it always does
Boy and girl kept apart by distance fall head over heels
Though they are miles apart and the hope is sparse
The wish is grasped but the grasp will slowly cease to hold

It is so easy in the early stage to believe it is real
Because she loves me and he loves her
The first wake up call begins when they divert their eyes
And realize it is still just fantasy

The boy proposes meeting, with the means in his hands
The girl says yes, but with hesitation
This is not fully revealed but rather concealed
A lack of hope breaks through to his soul

As with any waking moment, there are labyrinths to navigate
And through thick and thin, he will not hesitate
To find the way to his true love
Ignorant to the underlying premonition

For in the end, be it the boy or girl
Love is but an anti-climatic mission
You start off quick but lose your will
