A poem in memory of my father.

DAD

Dad you were my hero, you made me what I am

I was proud to call you father, you were a special man

You taught me manners and respect, you taught me good from bad

You put a smile on my face whenever I was sad

Dad I won’t forget you, I miss you every day

I think about you all the time, since you passed away

You always did your best for me, of that I can be sure

You gave me all you had to give, then you gave me more

Told me stories of the war and when you were at sea

The pain of losing friends, you tried to make me see

Now I have a son myself one thing that I have vowed

To teach him just how you taught me, dad you would be proud

Thank you dad you were the best, you gave me such a lot

I loved you dad and always will, you’ll never be forgot
