Mother why can you not understand?
If you could listen to me like the mountains do the wind
then maybe I wouldn’t seem so crazy in your eyes.
Maybe you would see me for the person that I am.
You would hear words flutter from my lips
for which I would become breathless.
You would see tears as streams which
have embedded curves down my face.
You would know that I am a daddy’s girl.
And because of this
I am lost,
in need of a caretaker
and to this
I do not find in you.
Sometimes I feel misled,
Sometimes I find comfort
but to this
I always reach the same dead end,
I always find focus on my failures
I always feel the loss of my father.
