I worked hard on a project today. Spent a good amount on it

It felt like I would be filled with great joy at the completion of the task

The task was completed, but then I realized

Tomorrow is another task

Yesterday was another task that had to be completed

Should I celebrate today’s hard work, maybe not

There’s no point. A long line of tasks and accomplishments

Always presents itself to me, like a thousand hills

Once you climb that mountain and reach its peak

You see many, many more mountains. Off beyond the horizon

Futile, all futile

But hey, let me rejoice in today’s accomplishments

‘Cause every task completed brings new changes, brings new life

Puts a smile on someone’s face, gives hope to another

So my dear friend, today remember to tell you buddies

Of what a great job they have done, no matter how small

There’s no substitute for the power of compliments
