This was originally going to be Cocaine Katie, but that just didn’t work out on a whole multitude of levels.
She’s a cold driving rain
she’s your boot
she’s your cane
cocaine
dame cocaine
She’s a scar that explains
that you’ve suffered in vain
to earn her name
dame cocaine
There’s this prison
we’ve been given called time
your years are like bars
they surround and confine you
there where the past
and the future collide
to find there’s just
no place to hide
The star that you are
is just a firefly
in her jar
twinkle near
twinkle far
little star
And if you see her
don’t hesitate
to remind her
that it’s seldom too late
and send her regards
from the boy at the gate
and the man in the 48th row
She’s a cold driving rain
she’s your boot
she’s your cane
cocaine
dame cocaine
