Dam’s were built to keep water at bay

They were designed for storage of water here

Villagers were flooded where the waters lay

This water reached all of our homes everywhere.

People lost their homes and lives building this dam

It also bought jobs to millions of people here and from outside

The dam stretched from Wales, all the way to Birmingham

It stretched far and wide.

It’s now a tourist site

Also of natural beauty in this beauty spot

Watching the buzzards and the red kite

It’s got the lot.

People come from miles to visit us first

We have walks, climbing, toilets and a gift shop
