A warm and nicely disturbing psychotic love verse!

Picture the aurora borealis

The northern lights blood red

Set the scene for the story

That I’d written in my head

          **

With you as the leading lady

The stone cold heroine

And a cast of thousands

All gathered here within

           **

Well your entrance would be grand

Your pedestal be high

With a twist in the tale

Asking the burning question ‘why?’

           **

I’d watch you bath in the spot-light

And I’d rejoice in my greed

Knowing you’re every mans every want

You’re every mans every need

            **

And I would succumb to my weakness

And your cold seductress charms

I would face a thousand deaths

If I could die just once in your arms

             **

For I was the dangerous dreamer

Who believed in all of this

And our bond would be forever

With the stealing of a kiss

             **

So, picture the aurora borealis

And the northern lights blood red

Set the scene for the ending

That I’d written in my head

             **

And you read your script prepared

That echoed your want for me

In the final act I catch your breath

And create the perfect lovers tragedy

I wouldn’t say psychotic, although I am sensing a hint of self destruction.

A message of love tempered with anguish ~ so beautiful Steve :-) Aurora is the name given to light emitted when the upper atmosphere is hit by charged particles, mainly electrons, travelling along magnetic field lines. In the Southern Hemisphere it is called Aurora Australis… Tasmania is the Australian state from which the aurora australis is most commonly seen…quite a spectacular and unforgettable thing to see. The language in this is so rich and vivid…it’s like a dream come true…you feel like you’re living and seeing the aurora itself…a delicate explosion of an inner emotional aurora borealis Steve:-) x

A very passionate write. I love the visual of the red northern lights that makes the perfect backdrop for the theme of desire. I can see them in my mind, dancing in the sky.

  • lillyrose on Feb 3, 2010

Wow…. nothing wrong with that. I actually though it was romantic, even if the ending was probably death but isn\\\\\\\’t that romantic too, to die in your lovers arms, \\\\\\\”together for ever\\\\\\\” or am I just a romantic sadist?

Oh and I love what Katie wrote. Red does make for a perfect backdrop to desire! This poem makes me feel passionate, there could be trouble ahead!

It’s dark appeal adds to your poem’s beauty. I love it. It throbs of a very dark passion. Loved the setting, too.
