Short poem discussing the theme of pursuing knowledge.
Too long have those who pursue knowledge been shunned by the social dynamic. In the day and age that we strive to seek acceptance through selling out our morals dearest to ourselves, with the values and wishful thinking of our parents trailing not too far behind; embarrassment remains the sole reason we change for those we do not wish to. I seek revolution, and I’m not the only one. At the risk of laughs and sneers from our generation’s peers, I say, dare to be pretentious. The effort put into achieving such a goal should be the light to shine in a darker world that is slowly voiding knowledge from its terribly rocky terrain. The self righteous do not parallel the self absorbed; the similarities are few and far between. To them, we are the underdogs, destined to perish; but that does not mean we can’t fool this unjust fate to better our situation. If trying is succeeding, than success has been deprived of its truer meaning. Trying is not enough, accomplishment is the better of the spoils. We are those whose thirst for knowledge is truly unmatched; while our pride bears a burden heavier than our weight in gold when speaking to the heretics of progressive education, we are the diamonds in the rough. Dare to seek knowledge.
