A poem that many people can interpret their own way, but it’s primarily about finding that light in your life, whatever it is, where ever it comes from. The bottom line is you found it and won’t ever let it go.

Where do we go?

Why do we run?

When no one is around

Do you get scared of yourself?

How do you get to where they want to meet?

I don’t want to go where they are

I want my own place; my own away

To a place I call home and can be me

The me I knew, the me I loved, the me I can’t change.

It’s that place I can’t describe, just see

Start new with who I want there.

Those judges I hate

They will never get passed the gates

My gates have grown strong

Confident

Happy.

No one gets to take it back

Change it again.

I like it like this and it’ll stay as long

As I say,

It’s my road, my revolution

The peace I’ve read about and seen

But never lived in; until now

So it gets to stay

Because I say

I’ll lay here being happy

Finally;

The Dark Went Away
