This is a very short poem about my favorite surrealist painter, Salvador Dali who apparently painted from his dreams.
Where art thou? Your curly mastery…..
Present to me the colours of your whimsical world
Your passion for time, clocks, curves, sticks and cracks
Oddities of the world and other universal myth
I step into your paintings as I go to sleep at night
With wonderment I waltz and shine upon your light
If the world were your dreams
I’d have so many friends
That lonely tree in the desert and the cliffs among the glen
Tell me great master
Did the Sandman lend you dreams to paint the colours of your mind for all the world to see?
Tonight we’ll share a landscape
Lavender, lemon, green,
plum, pink and orange
and aquamarine
We’ll lay on the chequered tiles
While the fat ladies sing
We’ll laugh at the twigs dancing
And look up to the sky until the spring…..
