A poem that my friend made, but I put the pictures to it.

Starts out with the excitement of a lifetime,
The clock moves so slow,
Time stops,
The day won’t go by as fast as normal,
Then the time comes,
Late at night 43 people gather together,
Prayer starts the journey,
Cramped into a little bus,
The long trip begins,
No sleep,
Excitement level at the max,
Morning comes,
Deep below,
Underground,
Pillars like spears stick out from the ceiling and ground,
Tales of ghosts told in every corner,
Blacker then the darkest night,
Finally emerging into the warm sunlight,
Another restless drive,
Chatter fills the bus like water fills a bowl,
Then it comes,
Sights of white domes and stone pillars are seen in the distance,
Stories told of the greatest man ever,
Myths unfolded,
Truths told,
Memories haunt every corner,
Second stop at tragedy,
Memories of thousands dead,
The cruelty,
The ambition,
The lives stolen from millions,
We leave the dark memories and head to our new home for the week,
No sleep once again,
Wake up at some UNBEILIVABLE hour,
Get out on the road again,
Go to the nations headquarters of the military A.K.A. the Pentagon,
Walk along corridors of honor and service,
Visit the wall of the names,
Killed by the terrorist plane crash,
See unfamiliar names,
Respect the unknown,
Travel on to the see the statues of the ages,

Honoring the dead,
Giving glory to the living,

Visit the wall of the dead,
Memories of the honorable dead,
Stories whisper in every name,
Next stop in a trip through time,
Watching swords flashing and battles raging on,
Crowd roars with excitement,

Voices lost,

Fun had,
Finally a night’s sleep at the hotel once again,
Waking up again at some UNBELIEVABLE hour,
Traveling to the home of the dead,
Tombstones mounted acres in every direction,
Stories of ages whisper on the wind,

Visit the Unknowns,
The mystery of the world,
Lay our respects down,
We leave full of wonder and amazement,
The house of God is our next stop,
Towering hundreds of feet above,
Everything from the Holy Bible to a rock from the moon,

Walking in the halls of a mighty church,
Last stop on D.C.,
To a museum of learning,

Facts and wonders,
Secrets and myths,
Finally time to head home,
We begin the long journey,

Reading, video games, and music,
At one point of time the oldies music played,
Adults sang and clapped,
Kids danced in the isle,

Mrs., Jost played her air guitar and violin,
Our last stop of the trip,
Gettysburg, the great battlefield,

Stories told,

Laughs,
Treasure hunters search for lost items,
Finally time to head,
To end the journey of a lifetime,
A last sleep together,

Until dawn’s light brings the end of our time together,
We get off and go our separate ways,
During the trip we learn about each other,
But more importantly,
We learn that we aren’t just friends that have been together for a long time,

We are, all of us, family.
