He said this while addressing at ECO-Interior Ministers Conference at Istanbul.

He said that there is a dire need of de-radicalization of the extremist elements as there is emergence of new weapon called Suicide Bomber, where the children under the age of 18 are being used. He said that we must form a group to find out ways and means and design some measures to stop extremism and convert radicalized youth into useful citizen.

He said that we call upon Muslim states to condemn and declare “Suicide Bombers” as un-Islamic. He said that we must discourage sectarianism as it is also one of the factors for production of extremists. He said that Border Control Management must be enhanced as it promotes transnational crime/terrorism.

He said that terrorism, money laundering, drug trafficking, weapon ammunitions smuggling/cyber crimes have interconnection with each other and hence a common strategy must be worked out to lay hand and sharing of real time intelligence within the member states.

He said that weapons and ammunition smuggling is a major contributor of spread of terrorism as extremists are using sophisticated arms like rocket launcher and anti-craft guns and such arms can only be brought by the “States”. It is highly alarming the suppliers are supplying the arms and ammunition without following the International prevailing laws.

He said that instead of reports, a full fledged conference needs to be held where the members states at the level of respective secretaries should come with there respective experience and we must determine as to why only this region is under more practical threats.

He said that Let us start sharing and expertise and train each other’s officers. Pakistan offers five officers from each meeting member states to be trained in Pakistan where they can get orientation on our experiences. He said that regular meetings and common SOPs based on the respective borders needs to be adopted.

He said that Pakistan offers the next venue of ECO – Interior Ministers Conference as per the date declared by this meeting. This is the time we member states fight against a common enemy terrorist with the common strategy.
