Poem about a spider.

dangling from the spider’s web
color sparkles in the dew;
strands of light, the silken trap
spun with pride from wall to wall;
dainty feet of patent black
strut across the crystal path;
glistening threads float in the air
patient – she awaits her clumsy prey;
tiny spider, large in pride
waiting for her hapless guest;
mistress of her woven cage
deadly trap, the web’s true test
pride glows red upon her chest
surrounded by the sparkling dew
she’s a deadly beauty seen by few
