What happenes after discovering that the person you care about is more shallow than you think.

Dear Certainty,

                To arrogant hope

                To wishful thinking

I apologize for gravity.

                I: Born an open-ended prayer

                Am: Broadway on DVD

                Sorry: I cannot float

                     these half empty glasses

                     just can’t hold me up

I rock the Ruca

I lust for closure

I’m a half shot of Jack filling the void by the hiccup

and the hangover is just as bad.

you drag the truth by the throat

          you’re a magician’s worst nightmare

we were a promise engraved in sand

        and I’m sorry

but your heart was a wave

       that had to break

                blue eyes are a tragedy

a failure to see through the smoke

                         and taste the flames

                No one falls in love

                   without practice.
