A love song, about renewing love.
Dear darling,
I never knew what is was
that I had actually felt
I never thought
it would be possible
to explain myself
to admit to all the times
I said:
“I love you”, but never knew
I was going to apolegize
but
now I know it’s true
I’m writing you this letter
love you
on a napkin at the station
I know how ghetto it must look
to the people
on the the platform watchin
[Chorus]
I started by writing you a letter
on a serviette
I had to put my thoughts on paper
this was the closest I could get
the only thing
I’m waiting for is
the next time
that I’ll see you
one more week
that we’re apart
won’t let you see
what I’ve been through
I wanted to find a way
to tell you I love you
without using those three words
So instead I mean to tell you
I’ll go through hell for you
even though it sounds absurd
but I’d go to then ends of the earth
and I’d walk the fires of hell
I’d go to any lengths for you
just so you know how hard I fell.
I’m choking back all
my anguish
as I try to write this
critical gazes
i give up it’s way
too difficult to fight this
I look forward to the times
that you get right pissed
though quite rightfully so
i know you don’t deserve this
as I said before
only for me I know
it just isn’t quite the same
because for some reason
I always seem to like it
when you drive me insane.
[Chorus]
I started by writing you a letter
on a serviette
I had to put my thoughts on paper
this was the closest I could get
the only thing
I’m waiting for is
the next time
that I’ll see you
one more week
that we’re apart
won’t let you see
what I’ve been through
I wanted to find a way
to tell you I love you
without using those three words
So instead I mean to tell you
I’ll go through hell for you
even though it sounds absurd
but I’d go to then ends of the earth
and I’d walk the fires of hell
I’d go to any lengths for you
just so you know how hard I fell.
