Dear God,
Wishing you
The most beautiful of days
Wishing you peace
And tranquility
In all-ways.

Dear God,
We are told to pray
To you, everyday
To speak heartfelt
So true
Every single day

But, I must apologize

Dear God,
For sometimes I forget
To do as they say
Sometimes I get mixed up
In the rush and chaos
In the everyday

When my mind is cluttered
When my thoughts swirl, in disarray
It’s hard for me to think straight
Much less remember to pray

Dear God,
You make it so easy for us
To do as you ask
To simply complete
This simple task
All we need to do
Is stop and take a moment
To remember you

We all have this simple ability
It’s within our grasp
With the reach of our fingertips
And, just like that
In seconds
Our spirits
Can be set free

So why do we always forget
Why do sometime the worries of the
Day, carry us miles away?

So, today,

Dear God
I make this promise to you
From this day forward
And beyond
I will do my best to remember
To be worthy of your golden doors
Do my best to embrace you tighter
Keep you closer
To my innocent heart

Closer,
Than ever before.
