A bright day I always remember as when we had a picnic together, sharing laughter till dusk…

My love, how I take great
delight in seeing your hair
billow in the cool breeze
and your face assume that
insatiable expression of
sublime beauty!
To this day, never have my
feelings changed since many
moons ago when I stood
transfixed by your angelic
face among the nondescript
crowd, like a radiant beam
from the constellation.
So let me take your hand,
hold you once again in a
gentle caress and enfold you
in my arms as when we kissed
in that blessed moment amid
the peal of church bells….
In desolation, hope flames in
me, my love, when the dazzling
ray of the future beckons, of
you and me forever locked
together in a passionate
embrace.
But it will soon get dark and
despairingly I must leave. The
grass covering the ground I’ve
cut and swept away along with
the withered leaves. Till my
return to replace them with
fresh ones, I hope, dear heart,
you love the flowers I lay
affectionately and with tears
on your tombstone.
