Poem about the excess of greed, injustice, politics, hate, intolerance and deprivation…the post-modern condition.
Another day
Another death by dollar
Another fruitless quest for the twisted scholar
If the leaders cared maybe it would cease
Maybe they’d spare a thought for the middle east
Maybe they’d pull me out of the fire
Inside the belly of this beast
But this ain’t the game we are to play
Justice has always been a picture without a frame
We are compelled to accept the lie of moderation
Forced to eat the remnants of political persuasion
Expenses and recession ignoring the old man’s pension
You’ll save your pet but not a palestinian
You’ll hedge your bets
Even though you know ain’t winning them
Another day
Another death by dollar
