The life story of a prostitute.
Around the corner, near the lamp post,
I stood long waiting, willing to play host.
My clothes were scanty, the lights were dim,
And while scanning for potentials, my eyes rested on him.
A long coat he wore with a gentleman’s hat,
“He’ll be no different”, the thought in me sat.
But something in me said, he’d be a different one,
‘coz just a li’l glance of him caused my pulse to run.
Being prey to flesh hunters had become my profession,
It was not a choice, with skin as my only possession.
Making a living out of nothing is what my trade taught,
And in it I fell deeper with my life getting wrought.
To bear the touch of alien hands was very tough at first,
But soon the feeling waded, when my virginal hymen burst.
Much pain I did endure while waiting to get it over with,
But he demanded service worth his money and longer I did writhe.
I gradually got adjusted and came to terms with life,
Perhaps I’m meant to be a whore and not a worthy wife.
The anger and pain within me gradually did subside,
And my true self and feelings, now with ease I could hide.
‘Coming’ I always did fake, but with earnest plight,
My poor hunter believing me, while gripping me closely tight.
Practice from age sixteen made me a champ at the art,
And I learnt the hard way to put body before the heart.
The only relation I understood was that of physical pleasure,
And I soon gave up the hope of finding Love’s bounty treasure.
My hopes of finding my prince while trying to earn my bread,
Waned with every passing night; they only wanted me spread.
But he…he was different, right from the start,
His eyes bore deep, into my soul, into my heart.
He nodded at me, and asked me about my cost,
I gave him quite a discount, in his eyes I was lost.
An urgent hunger consumed us, which couldn’t be postponed,
We started to make out right there, our bodies tightly toned.
For the first time in my life I ‘came’, acting was no more,
My body ached with desire and my kissed lips were sore.
To his den we went and continued with our love making,
With the passion of unexpected Love, my whole body was shaking.
After many bouts of ferocious acts, we finally lay down spent,
It was the first time my lips with my body were lent.
I lay in my prince’s taut arms till the break of light,
No dawn could have presented me with a more welcoming sight.
He woke up with a smiling face and once more kissed my lips,
And handed me the promised sum asking if I wanted tips.
My heart like shattered glass lay scattered on the floor,
And I had no guts to pick them up when he walked out of the door.
Today, around the corner, near the lamp post,
I again stood waiting, waiting to play host…
