A comment on a superficial society obsessed with beauty and youth.
DESIGNER BEAUTY
She’s truly an intriguing creature
this much acclaimed English rose
who has lived in La La land
though for how long nobody knows
star of stage and screen
still she remains a mystery
for little has ever been revealed about
her early years or family history
And from head to toe
she’s sure in great shape
with no trace of lump or bump
or wrinkle to mar luscious landscape
for certain a true charmer
so cool yet so hot
who’s learned how to make full use
of every asset that she’s got
With sultry blue bedroom eyes
and lips of ruby red
she knows what you want to hear
both in and out of bed
a sharp and foxy lady
of that there’s no mistake
but in driven desire to sustain success
she has become a total fake
For that baby smooth brow
flat abs and pouting mouth
pert breasts that defy gravity while those
of lesser mortals merely slump south
clearly signify beauty precisely designed
passage of time to defy
by gifted surgeon whose nips and tucks
are the best money can buy
But in pursuing eternal youth
she has lost her way
and trusts the words of no person
in fear that they will betray
sad regrets which lay hiding
under smooth yet shallow façade
proof that beauty is only skin deep
and can’t heal an aching heart
That grieves for the time
when she was truly free
to laugh and love without a care
or thought for any bad publicity
