The young has potential.

The Vampire knew it was a struggle to listen through the door,

so he just paced across the floor,

he was destined to collide with greatness one day,

if everything would just go his way.

He was the youngest vampire, but had desires to lead,

he would hunt, kill, and he could watch his victim bleed.

Pacing in front of the dark room was all he could do,

he wouldn’t dare speak to leaders, until spoken to,

and it would be in a gentle tone,

but the thoughts of feeding on his own,

was, well.. Mildly euphoric to say the least,

and his leaders knew he had good sense so far,

but to hunt as a group is what he hated,

killing in packs was so apparently overrated.

The room became silent, and he sensed something in the air,

he ran his long fingers through his thick dark hair,

his expression was not one of fear,

but he had to be still, and to move, he would not dare.

Something dark lifted him off the ground,

he shook, and shuddered as he was caught off guard,

but it came quietly, and without a sound,

he felt strong hands grabbing him hard,

reining him in,

bent him back enough to break,

but the force stopped for the young vampire’s sake,

he could not defend himself from that attack,

so the leaders sent him home,

saying he could not survive without a pack,

it was a simple waste,

and in his mouth it left a disgusting taste,

but some day,

some way,

he was destined to collide with greatness.

Another great ” Prey” theme. The whole vamp references are cool too. Shows their characters as united on one front ….sucking blood dry out of anything in sight, even their own. You capture the vamp frenzy really well and show a cannibalistic nature of their identity’s. Image is cool as well. Finely crafted prose
