Poem about detention!
I was so close to suspension
But landed up with detention.
You might wonder how I came here
To tell you the truth I fear
Well, I’ll tell you anyway
It all started yesterday
When suddenly I threw a bun
Mischievous students joined the fun
It ended as a lunchroom feud
As children threw about half-eaten food.
Now you know why I was punished
Because the room was filled with rubbish,
By everyone of us behind the mess
Which made the teachers feel the stress.
Our punishment, ‘ Clean the lunchroom! ‘
To remove food and bits of mushroom.
Everyone swept and mopped
Threw out carrots which were chopped
Off the tables and the chairs,
Everyone cleaned in despair,
But as soon as the clock struck four
We left the room,
Rushing out past the door.
