"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" Chris Bartlett (my big brother told me that back in high school) and nine times out of 10, those who "talk" about it seldom follow through. It’s the quiet one’s one needs to keep ears and eyes on, not to worry, that’s why I write poems. Channeling that energy elsewhere.
All through life, I’ve done my best
I’ve done what was required
no more
no less
I must confess
that now, I’m very tired
I haven’t lived life to fullest some would say
there was much of life I missed
but going back what would I change
over all, I had been blest
My goals were simple
and were few
but who would ever knew
my sheltered life as some would call
helped me as I grew
Doing what I felt was right
appearing to be uptight
condemned for choices that I made
yet, the other path was slight
No prince charming
eternal love
to rescue me from my tower
for he did not exist
I’ve walked the line
and towed the bar
and fell but didn’t falter
everything happens for a reason
though I do not understand
how many miracles are over looked
by the common man
death is a journey we all must make
how we take it, is up to us
some take their own lives
others insist
yet what is over looked
God’s love is for everyone
saint and sinner alike
and when the time comes
be ready
