Awareness is the greatest soldier.

Pretending to be what I’m not
Becomes somehow part of the plot
Although it’s not at will, you see
Because this girl’s inside of me

Yesterday a loser at a losers game
No wheel to be spun or lights or fame
Today in a sequel that’s rescripting the last
Fighting the thoughts, the demons of past

Partly an object of lusts and rage
Partly as innocent as fresh growing sage
Kicking and screaming trying to stay still
Lying in wait for the traitor on the hill

An advancement too swift will alert her to run
So she casually announces it has begun
Trapping the whore that’s bedding her mind
She sneaks up to strike her from behind

She turns from the cripple with intense fear
Cause she knows the coast is not yet clear
She knows the strength of her adversary’s fist
Wielding descent into the abyss

The battle has only just begun
The war is not yet won
As a soldier, so am I
Prepared to fight or I must die.
