An Ode to Technology.

Image via Wikipedia

All weekend long I tried

to make the thing work right

it beeped and sputter futilely

and only worked at night

It hesitated, froze up

and simply looked at me

the Internet was fubar

and wouldn’t let me be

I couldn’t read the messages

or post a single thing

like days of old I wrote, composed

anticipating AOL’s old ring

But somehow I survived it

this technological lapse

reminders of the older days

when it was a piece of crap

Now I am connected

and can write freely at will

but the pen is right beside me

in case I need it still.

Cute. I encountered such a moment this morning on Triond. After having written a very lengthy PM to a friend, it logged me out d/t being timed out and the whole thing was erased. The PM reply is not compatible with my Iphone. I have to chase the little reply square all around the screen and then still won’t let me reply!

LOL – so very true! If we ever had some catastrophic event that wiped out all of our satellites and fried all of the electronics in North America, the only people surviving would be the Amish.

At least if my old Underwood was finished being repaired I could TYPE all my stuff. But, then I would have to by stamps, stationary and envelopes… LOL
